Who is this course for?
"The Health & Safety Regulations 1981 state that an employer shall provide, or ensure that there are provided, such equipment and facilities as are adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for enabling first aid to be rendered to their employees if they are injured or become ill."
These Regulations apply to all workplaces including those with five or fewer employees and to the self-employed. All employers in the UK have a legal obligation to make First Aid provision for their employees.
Who should attend:
A person who has been designated as a First-Aider at Work. In order to become a qualified first-aider you must successfully complete a four day First Aid at Work course.
What they will learn:
The knowledge and confidence to manage First Aid emergencies.
Course content:
- Dealing with accidents and illness
- Using a First Aid kit
- Simple record keeping
- Resuscitation
- Treatment of an unconscious casualty
- Choking
- Treatment of a heart attack
- Control of bleeding
- Burns and scalds
- Poisoning
- Fractures
- Shock
- Stroke
This course is delivered with a relaxed approach, easy to understand, commonsense format in order to maximise delegate understanding and aid skill retention.
Successful candidates will receive a first aid certificate that is valid for three years.
